Our Background

LeeAnne Matusek – President & Executive Director

LeeAnne brings a diverse background of producing/writing/acting and a career in wellness as a Personal Trainer and Nutritional Counselor to Fittin’ It In!™.

LeeAnne lives a multi-hyphenate life as a wife, mother to three young boys, actor in feature films, t.v. and theatre and as a producer and owner of Better Late Than Never Productions, LLC. She is also breathing life into many projects that are in various stages of development for film, t.v. and theatre.

Always seeking a healthier but sane way of living and striving to maintain balance in life as she pursued an acting career in Los Angeles, in 1998 she turned her love of physical activity into a successful career as a Personal Trainer and Nutritional Counselor. After becoming certified through the respected American Council on Exercise (ACE) she had her own successful business, Mat’s Muscles. Her motto was and still is, “Fitness is more than muscles, it’s a state of mind.”™.

LeeAnne has spent seven years volunteering through her son’s elementary school and has served as an executive board member on PTA for five years. Her focus is on wellness. She is currently on the Wellness Committee and has led such varied activities as Walk Your Child To School Day, Eat From A Rainbow tastings coordinated with her son’s school garden committee and developed the Lunch Time Athletics program that is in it’s fourth successful year.

LeeAnne will run the organization and work hand in hand with the board. She will be responsible for writing grants and working with fellowships. She will also work with the controller and other directors to run the organization.

She currently resides in Burbank, California with her husband Henry, three boys Hank, Jacob and Lucas and their dog Samy.

Luisa Gomez – Treasurer & Director of Operations

Luisa Gomez is the proud parent of two beautiful girls. She loves teaching and learning with them through living life full of faith, love and gratitude. She is a former teacher of 17 years in the Non- profit world and is currently the Membership Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley. She has worked in the non-profit sector for most of her working career and loves the satisfaction of helping others and giving back to the community. She is currently enrolled in the program MA in Organizational Leadership and wishes to touch lives in a loving way. "This is my way of living a life of truth and generosity that I wish to instill in my own children. This venture we have set out on in helping others fit wellness into their lives as they care for others is a beautiful way to give back to others as well as myself and my children. It is a beautiful reminder of what it is to live each day to its fullest and savor each moment.”

Luisa will work on the day to day items in the organization. She will be responsible to write smaller grants. She will work with the store front or office and employees when the non profit grows. Luisa will also work with community connections and building relationships with other non profits.

Marianne Bates – Secretary & Resource Development Director

For over twenty years, Marianne has produced numerous fundraising events for non-profit charities. These events ranged from multiple-day entertainment events to theatrical productions. She took a hiatus from producing these events to raise her children. However, during that hiatus, she still volunteered her services to help at fundraising events for local non-profit organizations; San Diego Zoo’s Celebration for The Critters – over ten years / San Diego Mission De Acala Festival of The Bells – Entertainment Director for six years and awarded Volunteer of the Year / San Diego MS Walk – two years. Marianne is back full force in the entertainment world. Even though the acting bug still has its grip on her, she has found new passions in screenwriting. Currently, Marianne holds a position as a Board Member for the non-profit group Media Communications Association – International (MCA-I): San Diego Chapter. MCA-I is a group of media professionals from around the world that meets once a month in their cities and once a year for an international meeting. Their goal is to improve, inspire and connect media professionals throughout the world.

Marianne has worked on several independent films as writer and was thrilled when the short film, The Heiress Lethal (aka The Fatal Heir) went on an international tour and was invited to screen at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival. Marianne is delighted to be a part of the Amalgamated Grommet team as a writer and help out in any other areas where her diverse background is helpful.

Marianne’s focus will be on donations and large fundraising. She will also build connections with potential board members.

Marianne resides in Southern California with her family. She is active in her community and is thankful every day for everything in her life.

Sandi Shearer – Facilitator

Sandi has had a very successful career in sales/marketing for over 20 years, primarily in the broadcast/production/post-production industry.

Over the last 7 years, Sandi has volunteered at her son’s elementary school as well as his middle school. She has served 2 years as PTA President, a year as PTA 1st Vice President, PTA Council Historian and is currently PTA 2nd Vice President of Membership at her sons middle school. For the last 4 years she has coordinated a team for Burbank Family Services fundraiser/walk-a-thon, has participated in Relay For Life for many years and volunteers for Burbank Arts For All and these are just to name a few.

From an early age, Sandi has had a passion for helping others and doing her best to make a difference. Being part of FITTIN’ IT IN™ is very exciting and new journey that she welcomes with open arms.

Sandi currently resides in Burbank, California with her significant other, David, her son John and their loving pooch General Lee.
